Callaway is preparing its first attempt at a C8 Chevrolet Corvette car.

Corvette tuning company Callaway will use this week's annual Corvettes at Carlisle show in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, to unveil the first modifications to the C8 generation American sports car.

CG renderings showing Callaway's modifications to the current Corvette Stingray show new aerodynamic elements, wheel rims, and exhaust tips. The exhaust tips feature Callaway's trademark D-shape.

Callaway is refraining from giving details for now, but the Connecticut-based tuning, engine and parts company has dropped a few hints. According to the company, the wheels are forged wheels and the aerodynamic elements are made of carbon fiber.

For the 6.2-liter V8 engine, Callaway designed ported intake manifolds, high-flow intakes, and the aforementioned exhaust system. Power output was not specified, but it should exceed the standard 490 hp and 465 lb-ft of torque (495 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque with the exhaust system installed).

The interior includes alcantara trim, alloy pedals, footrest covers and floor mats.

Callaway will offer many of its modifications in the base Stingray trim, known as the Launch Edition. Buyers will then be able to add more aggressive aerodynamic elements and handling improvements.

More significant modifications can be expected from Callaway in the future, including on the upcoming Corvette Z06. For example, in the case of the C7 Z06, Callaway increased power from the standard 650 hp to 757 hp. A shooting brake style rear hatch

was also developed to increase storage space inside the car.

This year's Corvettes at Carlisle will be held August 26-28.
