GTO Engineering Ferrari 250GT SWB California Spider rebuilt.

British GTO Engineering has added a new addition to its portfolio of replica Ferraris, which the company calls the Revival Series.

The newest addition to the series is Ferrari's 250 GT SWB California Spider, a beloved Ferrari from the 1960s. It is also the Ferrari featured in "Ferris Bueller's Holiday."

GTO Engineering is an expert in restoring classic Ferraris, often having to fabricate parts for their restoration work. Currently, the company is using its experience to produce new cars.

The company's Revival Series already included the 250 GT SWB Berlinetta and 250 Testa Rossa, and it was only a matter of time before an open-top California Spyder was added.

The car would use the original Ferrari chassis of the donor 330 or 365, from which customers could choose whether they wanted a matching specification to the original car or upgraded powertrain, transmission, and interior. The standard engine is the same 3.0-liter V-12 as the original, but more powerful 3.5-liter and 4.0-liter engines are also available. It is also available with a choice of a four- or five-speed manual transmission.

All production is done in-house, with each car taking over 1,500 man-hours to produce. A key element is the aluminum body, which is manufactured using GTO Engineering's proprietary molds and methods similar to those used by Scaglietti for the original.

GTO Engineering will premiere the California Spyder Revival at the 2021 Goodwood Revival at the Goodwood Motor Circuit in England this weekend.

In addition to the Revival series, GTO Engineering also offers its own cars developed from scratch, but unashamedly inspired by classic Ferraris, especially the legendary 250 GTO. GTO Engineering calls it the Squalo, which means "shark" in Italian, and it is available for order.
