SEMA Show to Evolve into Citywide SEMA Week in 2023

The annual Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) trade show in Las Vegas is about to be transformed into an even bigger event starting this year.

Organizers announced Friday that beginning in 2023, the SEMA show will evolve into a new event called SEMA Week, which will include new activities in addition to the traditional trade show.

In order to provide more opportunities for exhibitors, SEMA Week will not be held solely at the Las Vegas Convention Center, as it is now, but at multiple locations in Las Vegas. This change will also make SEMA activities more accessible to the general public, rather than the current format, which is more targeted to the aftermarket industry.

The new activities and locations will be introduced gradually over a five-year period, organizers said. One of the planned activities is the SEMA Fest at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds, which will be open to the public and will feature live music and food vendors in addition to cars. There will also be an official SEMA auction and the ongoing SEMA Ignited drift and burnout event.

"By creating SEMA Week and SEMA Fest, we are introducing a new platform for enthusiasts and the industry to engage with each other while maintaining the integrity of the trade show as an indispensable event for the automotive community," SEMA Chairman James Lawrence, president of SEMA, said in a statement.

More details on the revamped show will be announced in the coming months.
