Radical Teases 850-horsepower Flagship Circuit Car

Radical Motorsports is a leading manufacturer of specialty cars for the track: the British company, founded in 1997, now sells numerous models to track enthusiasts and racers around the world, and to celebrate its 25th anniversary is planning its most radical model to date. The company is planning its most extreme model to date to celebrate its 25th anniversary.

On Monday, Radical announced the first details of its new flagship track car, currently being talked about under the code name Project 25 and limited to just 25 units. It is a lightweight truck car similar to Radical's existing portfolio, but the output will be boosted to a supercar-like 850 hp.

Radical also confirmed that the Project 25 will have two seats and a roof and will be inspired by the company's existing RXC track car. The chassis is a space frame design, the engine is mid-mounted, and a large dual-plane wing is shown in the teaser.

Power is provided by a twin-turbocharged V-6 called the Radical Performance engine, presumably derived from the V-6s of major automakers. Recent Radicals use an improved Ford engine.

Radical is taking orders for Project 25, including from customers in the United States.

In a statement, Radical CEO Joe Anwil said, "Twenty-five years is a great honor for Radical Motorsports as a racing car manufacturer and organizer of single-make race series. Project 25 will be designed and built to commemorate this milestone and showcase the knowledge and technology offered by the UK-based engineering and manufacturing company."
