2023 Mercedes-Benz AMG S 63, 2024 Acura Integra Type S: Top Photos of the Week

Mercedes-Benz AMG unveiled its redesigned S 63 this week. The car is now called the S 63 E Performance, and the added designation indicates that the gas engine is augmented by an advanced plug-in hybrid system using technology similar to that found in Formula 1.

The other AMG that was talked about this week is a new racing car based on the GT sports car and designed for GT2 competition; it will hit the track in 2023 and will compete in the SRO-sanctioned GT2 European series, highlighted primarily by the Spa 24-hour race.

Ford has unveiled a new version of its GT supercar. It is a track-only model similar to the existing GT Mk II and is said to produce over 800 hp.

Acura has promised to add a sporty Type S variant to all models in its lineup, and the next recipient will be the new Integra hatchback. The Integra Type S will be powered by a 300+ horsepower 2.0-liter turbo four, and we test drove a prototype this week.

The other car we test drove was the stunning Ferrari Roma. Ferrari's engineers managed to infuse this car with a unique personality.

Mercedes-Benz was spotted testing a car that could be the first of the next generation of compact cars. It was a compact coupe-like sedan similar to the CLA-Class, but with an electric powertrain, suggesting it could eventually be called the EQA. The current EQA crossover sold overseas is likely to become an EQA SUV via a mid-cycle update.

Another vehicle we witnessed testing was an electric Porsche 718 sports car. The latest prototype was of a 718 Boxster roadster, but an electric version of the 718 Cayman coupe is also supposedly planned.

And finally, rally driver Travis Pastrana released his wildest video yet for Gymkhana 2022: a Subaru wagon tuned to 865 hp, a 3,000 hp Chevy El Camino, multiple monster trucks, and a helicopter, fighter jets make appearances.
