The Shelby 427 Cobra car owned by Ford CEO Jim Farley is up for sale.

A 1966 Shelby 427 Cobra, once owned by current Ford CEO Jim Farley, is for sale on the online auction site Auto Hunter.

The car, chassis number CSX3195, began life as a regular road-going 427 Cobra, but was later converted to S/C (semi-competitive) specifications. It was originally billed to Johnny Bolton Ford of Maitland, Florida, for a total of $6,383.

According to the listing, Farley purchased the car in 2012 and subsequently had it restored, at which point it was painted its current blue with white stripes; according to the current owner and seller, who acquired the car in 2015, this color combination was previously owned by Farley, who also owns and sells the car in the United States, was identical to the FIA 289 Cobra he sold to Axl Rose, lead singer of Guns N' Roses.

Motor Authority senior editor Kirk Bell rode with Farley in this 427 Cobra at a 2014 Ford event, proving that despite its collector value, Farley did not baby it. Farley has been racing vintage cars for over a decade and regularly hits the track in a 1966 Ford GT40. He describes vintage racing as a form of yoga.

Power for this 427 Cobra comes from a Ford FE V-8. This engine was also worked on at one time by Roush Industries, and the air cleaner lid is signed by the company's founder, Jack Roush. The engine is mated to a four-speed manual and spins the rear wheels. According to the seller, the engine produces 525-550 hp at the wheels.

As of this writing, the car has a bid of $536,000 and the auction still has 10 days left.
