Volvo is reportedly planning to produce six EV cars by 2026.

Volvo has pledged to have a complete lineup of electric vehicles by 2030.

Volvo already offers two EVs in the form of the compact XC40 and C40 Recharge duo, and last November it unveiled the EX90 mid-size SUV as an electric alternative to the XC90.

Reuters reported on Thursday, citing two people familiar with the plans, that there will be at least six new EVs from Volvo by 2026. The sources said the six vehicles would include three SUVs, two sedans, and a minivan.

The first SUV is the EX90, which will begin deliveries in early 2024 as a 2024 model; a subcompact crossover SUV, to be called the EX30, is expected to be revealed this summer; a third SUV is expected to be an electric car replacement or possibly successor to the XC60

According to sources, the two sedans will be in the same segment as the current S60 and S90, while the minivan will be a larger twin to the 009, also a Geely brand, from Zeekr. The minivan will target Chinese buyers and may not be sold outside of that market.

Reuters reports that other Volvos will also be developed with an emphasis on Asian customer trends to boost sales in Asia. This would extend to the development of sedan models in China, where Volvo recently expanded its local R&D center. Volvo's electric sedan is expected to be given a new designation, ES, followed by a number that reflects its positioning.
