Alpine is reportedly in talks with AutoNation to sell the cars in the United States.
0] Renault may be serious about introducing the Alpine brand in the U.S.

According to new reports, the French automaker is negotiating with AutoNation about a deal centered on the Alpine Performance brand, which currently offers only one model, the A110 sports car.

Bloomberg reported Thursday, citing comments from Renault CEO Luca De Meo, that the company may partner with AutoNation to sell Alpine vehicles in the United States.

Citing comments from Renault CEO Luca De Meo, Bloomberg reported Thursday that the automaker may partner with AutoNation to sell Alpine cars in the U.S.

Bloomberg also reported that Alpine and AutoNation's partnership may go beyond simple placement of cars at dealerships, and that Alpine is considering options other than a deal with AutoNation.

The report comes weeks after de Meo said that the U.S. market is important to Alpine's sales growth and that two electric SUVs are being developed with the U.S. in mind. The electric SUVs, targeting Porsche's Macan and Cayenne, will be launched in 2027 and 2028.

Alpine CEO Laurent Rossi said that an outside partner could be used for the new SUV's platform and that Geely Automobile would be a natural fit since Renault and Geely already have a joint project.

According to Bloomberg, a shareholding arrangement between Renault and alliance partner Nissan in January makes it easier for Renault to work more closely with new partners.

Alpine will launch a compact crossover and a hot hatch before the two SUVs arrive. These are expected to appear by mid-decade, followed by a redesigned A110 in 2026 or 2027. All future Alpine models will be electric drive only.
