Kia EV9, 2023 Porsche 911 GT3 RS and 2024 Audi Q7: this week's backlash

A glimpse at the Kia EV9, a ride in the 2023 Porsche 911 GT3 RS, and the 2024 Audi Q7 continues its public road test. This week, Motor Authority is "Week in Reverse."

Kia announced that the EV9 will debut on March 15. The announcement was accompanied by a teaser video showcasing the front and rear lightning elements, as well as a side profile of the electric three-row crossover SUV.

Ford announced that production of the F-150 Lightning electric truck will resume on March 13. The automaker believes it has figured out the battery problem that led to the trucks catching fire, and changes are being made to prevent a reoccurrence. No recalls have been announced. Ford also announced that it intends to increase production of the Lightning to 150,000 units per year by the end of 2023.

We ran the 2023 Porsche 911 GT3 RS on the race track and found it to be essentially a street legal racing car. With buttons to change everything from the steering wheel to downforce, suspension, rear differential, and more, there are numerous ways for the driver to pursue the perfect lap.

This fall, Rivian announced the addition of a 390-mile Max Pack battery option to the R1S lineup. This new pack will feature LFP chemistry and will be paired with a new dual-motor powertrain developed in-house.

The 2024 Audi Q7 continued testing on public roads. In what appears to be the final cold weather test, the refreshed Q7 was covered in minimal camouflage. The updated fascia and Lightning Element were visible.
