Toyota GR Yaris, Nissan Arya Nismo: Automotive News Headlines

The 2024 Tokyo Auto Salon has opened in the Japanese capital, and already several new concept cars and vehicles have debuted. One of them is a modified Toyota GR Yaris with a newly developed quick-shift automatic transmission that Toyota claims can deliver faster lap times than a manual.

Nissan unveiled the Ariya Nismo at the Tokyo Auto Salon. This electric crossover is a much more lukewarm effort than Toyota's hot hatch, but it benefits from some serious performance upgrades, including an aerodynamic package and increased horsepower.

The Brabham BT62 supercar is no more. The Brabham Racing Team announced that its partnership with Fusion Capital has ended. The private equity firm, which was a major shareholder in the project, is now focusing on electric vehicles and self-driving technology.
