2025 Chevrolet Silverado HD Trail Boss joins lineup

Following a major update for 2024, Chevrolet Silverado HD will add a new "Trail Boss" grade for the 2025 model year.

This trim level is aimed at buyers who may do a little off-roading from time to time and first appeared on the 2019 Silverado 1500; it was added to the Colorado in 2022 and is now available on the Silverado HD.

For more serious off-roaders, Chevrolet offers the ZR2 grade, which has been available on the Silverado HD since the 2024 update.

The Trail Boss comes equipped with the Silverado HD's LT and LTZ trims, plus a Z71 suspension package with Rancho shocks, 20-inch wheels with BFGoodrich rubber, red recovery hooks, back-out fascia and badging, and various Additional styling touches include. [The Trail Boss' standard powertrain is the Silverado HD's 6.6-liter V-8 with 401 horsepower. The Silverado HD's 6.6-liter turbo diesel V-8 (470 hp) can also be ordered for the Trail Boss. In both cases, the only transmission available is a 10-speed automatic.

Chevrolet is also introducing some small tweaks to other grades of the Silverado HD for the 2025 model year. These include the addition of parking sensors on the WT, Custom, and LT grades, which will be standard on the ZR2. Adaptive cruise control is also now standard on the High Country. Other changes include a Black Styling Pack for the Custom and 20-inch wheels for the Midnight Edition.

The 2025 Silverado HD lineup will go on sale this summer. Pricing will be announced closer to launch.
