2025 BMW M5 Touring goes on sale in the U.S.
BMW's latest forbidden fruit doesn't seem to be forbidden after all.
Scheduled to debut in 2024, the 2025 M5 Touring will arrive just as the Audi RS 6 Avant is retiring. Production will begin in the fourth quarter of 2024 and will arrive shortly.
According to BMW, the high-performance luxury sedan variant has completed testing and is in the final stages of development. Testing of the touring model is ongoing and the team will soon head (back) to the Nürburgring. A wagon may be launched after the sedan.
A hybrid powertrain associated with the BMW M Hybrid V8 GTP racing car has been confirmed. This would be a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 with an electric motor under the hood. Race regulations limit the output of this powertrain to just 670 hp, but the power delivered to the four wheels is expected to easily exceed 700 hp.
Based on the latest 5 Series, the M5 will have punched out fenders, larger and wider wheels, bigger brakes, and the trademark quad exhaust tips.
Expect prices to be firmly in six-figure territory.
