Bentley Bentayga S Goes Dark with Black Edition
In the ultra-luxury segment, more and more buyers are demanding exclusive tastes in their cars, and automakers like Bentley are happy to meet those buyers' demands.
As one example, Bentley on Tuesday introduced a new exclusive option for its Bentayga SUV that adds black accents to the exterior and cabin.
The option, dubbed the Black Edition, is available on the Bentayga S and Bentayga S Hybrid. The regular S is powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 with 542 hp, accelerating from 0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds and reaching a top speed of 180 mph; the S Hybrid combines a turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 with an electric motor for a combined 456 hp.
In the Black Edition, the exterior is finished in satin black, and areas normally finished in chrome are gloss black. The badge will also be black and will include the aforementioned winged B logo, although the actual B will remain white. The area around the lights also has a dark finish.
The interior features black leather, black carpet, and carbon fiber fabrics. Again, the normally chrome-finished elements are replaced by gloss black.
However, it is not all black. The Black Edition features a variety of bright accent colors inside and out. There are seven accent colors to choose from: Mandarin, Signal Yellow, Klein Blue, Pillar Box Red, Ice, Hyper Green, and Beluga.
The Black Edition is not yet available in the United States.
