2024 Mercedes-AMG C 63 with 4-cylinder hybrid priced at $85,050
Mercedes-Benz AMG's redesigned C 63 will finally arrive in U.S. showrooms this spring. Mercedes-Benz revealed Wednesday that prices will start at $85,050, including a $1,150 destination charge.
Coming as a 2024 model in a single grade called the C 63 S E Performance, there will no longer be a V-8 under the hood. Instead, it will feature a hybrid powertrain that combines a 2.0-liter turbo four and a 48-volt mild hybrid system up front, plus a powerful electric motor on the rear axle. Peak output is 671 hp, with a 6.1 kwh battery providing a modest electric range.
The 0-60 mph acceleration time is 3.3 seconds and the top speed is 174 mph.
Despite the new hardware, the asking price is still expensive for a compact sports sedan, even for an AMG. However, the car is loaded with extras as standard equipment. These include rear-wheel steering, adaptive dampers, active engine mounts, a Burmester audio system, a surround-view camera system, and a panoramic sunroof.
Buyers can add the Pinnacle Package, which adds useful extras, for an additional $2,050. These include enhanced navigation graphics, a heads-up display, and digital light headlights that can project information onto the road.
Other options include the AMG Performance Design Package with unique 20-inch wheels, red brake calipers, several aerodynamic upgrades, a higher top speed, and the AMG TrackPace performance data recorder. Included. Various AMG Night Package and AMG Carbon Fiber Package options will also be available.
For buyers who prefer an SUV body, a redesigned GLC 63 will be available as a 2025 model with the same powertrain as the C 63 S E Performance. The new GLC 63 is expected to hit showrooms later this year.
