Genesis G80 EV Magma, successor to McLaren P1: Today's Automotive News
Genesis has launched a new performance sub-brand to challenge Mercedes-Benz AMG and BMW M. It is called Magma, and following the GV60 Magma Concept that debuted at the New York Auto Show last month, the new G80 EV Magma Concept was unveiled this week at the 2024 Beijing Auto Show.
McLaren recently held a dealer meeting to reveal information about the successor to the P1. Apparently, the new hypercar will feature a new carbon tub, a V8 hybrid powertrain, F1-inspired aerodynamics, and a price tag approaching $2 million, and will be unveiled in 2026.
A prototype of the updated Ram 2500 HD was spotted. According to the report, there will be some tweaks to the styling of the heavy-duty pickup, but not much else. The current powertrain should also be carried over, and buyers will be able to choose between a V-8 or a turbo diesel six-cylinder powerplant.
