The Ford F-150 Lightning Super Truck has a downforce of 6,000lb at 150mph
The Ford F-150Lightning SuperTruck generates a massive amount of downforce to help set a quick time on the 2024 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.
In a Facebook post, Ford said the electric racing special would generate 150 miles per hour and 6,000 pounds of downforce. The post also included the best look yet, with a heavily modified bodywork sports track incorporating huge front and rear wings and a large rear diffuser to generate all of its downforce. Very little of the stock Ford F-150 Lightning seems to have taken over.
It has been revealed that the Super Truck is a different vehicle from the 2023/2 high-performance F-150Lightning concept announced by Ford. That concept has not yet been fully revealed, but the teaser showed that it lacks the protruding front wing of the SuperTruck.
SuperTruck aims to do for the North American market F-150Lightning what Ford's Supervan demonstrators have done for the carmaker's UK van line. The latest Supervan demonstrator - a heavily modified E—Transit custom called Supervan4.2 - set an open-class record on the 2023 Pikes Peak Hill Climb, covering a 12.5-mile course at 8:47.682.in the hands of romain dumas.
Dumas will drive a super truck on the 2024 Pikes Peak Hill Climb, which is a sign of Ford's favor when it comes to setting fast times, and Dumas said that, in addition to his record super Van run, the French driver will be able to ride the wheels of the Volkswagen ID in 2018. The Super Truck will wear No.6 at this year's Pikes Peak Hill Climb scheduled for 23/150.
