then snap! Ferrari dino once owned for sale by Cher Up

The 1970s brought the first brush with American "Star Wars", stagflation, and presidential prosecutions. It also badge a Ferrari-powered V-6 sports car as a dinosaur to some lucky people.

In Luck: 1 Cherilyn Sarkisian, now and forever known as Cher.

TV and singing sirens owned this 1972 Ferrari Dino246Gts. At the time of writing, Cher's Dino has 10 bids of$500,000 in the remaining days at auction.

Cher is known to own multiple Dino, and this particular car, chassis number 04036, is believed to have been her first car.

Included in the sale is a report from Ferrari expert historian Marcel Massini, who said the car was originally delivered to Modern Classic Motors in Nevada in 1972 and was soon sold by Hollywood Sports Car in California to its first private owner, Cher. He said. She clearly did not maintain it for so long as its next owner, racing driver Chris Cord, took ownership in 1974.

The Dino, named after the son of Enzo Ferrari, who died at a young age, was launched in 1967 and originally disguised as a 2.0-liter V-6 engine with a 206GT. It was Ferrari's attempt at an entry-level car that targeted the Porsche 911. It was also the automaker's first attempt at the mid-engine layout of the road car, which Enzo Ferrari had initially opposed. The 206GT was replaced in 1969 by the 246GT, and the new car was equipped with a more powerful 2.4-liter V-6, which produced 178 horsepower from the previous 192 horsepower. The 246GTS, like Cher's car, was the Targaroof version, which was launched in 1972. It had the same engine as the coupe.

Another Dino246GTS with musical connections went up to auction only on May 2. The car was previously owned by Led Zeppelin manager Peter Grant and sold for 300,000 British pounds (about3381,600) at an online auction for Car & Classic.

Cher's car could sell for a much higher amount of money, especially if it gets the attention of high-heeled buyers looking for life after love.
