Aston Martin DB12 custom-made to mark the 60th anniversary of “Goldfinger”.

Sixty years after the release of the James Bond classic “Goldfinger,” the partnership between the popular spy film series and Aston Martin continues today.

To celebrate the anniversary, Aston Martin and its Q personalization division created the DB12 Goldfinger Edition, inspired by the DB5 from the 1964 film.

The connection begins with a silver paint job that matches the signature silver birch used on Bond's DB5. There are also gold accents like the side strakes and the unique Aston Martin logo in silver with black enamel. Also unique to the car are the silver 21-inch wheels and black brake calipers.

The interior leather seats have the same fluting as the design used on the DB5, with a perforation pattern that is similar to the Prince of Wales check pattern that Bond often applied to his suits. This pattern is repeated on the door headliners, and script on the side sills emphasizes the fact that the car is a Goldfinger 60th Anniversary Special Edition.

Other special touches include 18-karat gold plating on some of the vehicle's controls and real gold fiber woven into the carbon fiber accents. In addition, the driver's sun visor is embroidered with an eight of hearts motif. Bond fans will recognize this as a reference to the playing cards used for the final draw in the famous Miami pool scene in Goldfinger.

Sadly, there are no spy gadgets this time around, but Aston Martin has no qualms about adding them to some of its Bond special edition cars. A few years ago, Aston Martin introduced a collection of replica versions of the Bond DB5, complete with rotating number plates, rear smokescreens, and an oil and slick supply system.

Aston Martin will produce only 60 DB12 Goldfinger Editions worldwide. Sales and pricing for the U.S. market have not yet been announced.

The DB12 is the latest in Aston Martin's line of DB cars; it was introduced earlier this year as a 2024 model and will be powered solely by a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 with 671 hp; those seeking V-12 power will need to upgrade to the new Vanquish, coming in 2025. which will arrive in 2025.
