Chevrolet Expands EV Trim of 2025 Silverado to 492 Miles of Range
The Chevrolet Silverado EV enters its second year on the market with a significantly improved range and price.
Chevrolet's electric pickup truck was introduced for the 2024 model year and given a staggered arrival, with the WT (work truck) version arriving initially for commercial buyers and later a limited, fully equipped RST First Edition for private buyers
In 2025, the WT will be available in multiple battery options (previously there was only one), the smallest of these being offered to fleet buyers as well as to consumers in the form of the WT. Consumers will also be able to choose from both LT and RST, and RST will also have multiple battery options.
Pricing for the 2025 Silverado EV will start at $57,095. This is with a 119 kwh standard range battery in the WT; there is no EPA range estimate, but Chevrolet has previously hinted at about 350 miles. This option will be a late addition and, as noted, will be offered to both commercial and private buyers.
The WT can also be equipped with a 170 kwh Extended Range battery and a 205 kwh Max Range battery, with EPA-estimated ranges of 422 and 492 miles, respectively. These WT versions are offered to commercial vehicle buyers only, starting at $69,495 with the Extended Range battery and $77,795 with the Max Range battery. All WT versions produce 510 hp. [This pricing and range is a significant improvement over the 2024 WT, which has an EPA-estimated range of 450 miles and starts at $79,800.
The 2025 Silverado EV for private buyers is now offered in a new base LT form starting at $75,195; the LT is powered by a standard range battery that provides an EPA-estimated range of 408 miles for this application and packs 645 horsepower .
There is also a performance-oriented RST now offered as a regular production model that can be ordered with either an Extended Range battery that provides an estimated range of 390 miles or a Max Range battery that provides an estimated range of 460 miles. Pricing for the RST starts at $89,395 with the Extended Range battery and $97,895 with the Max Range battery. Maximum output is 760 hp.
Deliveries of the 2025 Silverado EV will begin later this year, and the listed prices include a $2,095 destination charge.
Production will take place at General Motors' Factory Zero plant in Detroit. This plant manufactures GMC's related Sierra EV; GMC has not announced plans for the 2025 Sierra EV.
