2025 Audi Q6 Sportback E-Tron Electric SUV with coupe-like styling
The 2025 Audi Q6 E-Tron electric compact crossover will arrive in U.S. showrooms later this year, and next year, both the Q6 E-Tron and the sportier SQ6 E-Tron, which Audi revealed Monday at the 2024 Paris Motor Show, will The Q6 Sportback E-Tron will be joined by the dynamically styled Q6 Sportback E-Tron.
Like the sportback versions of Audi's other crossovers, the Q6 Sportback E-Tron adopts a coupe-like profile, replacing storage space with sportier proportions. Audi offers 18 cubic feet of storage space, which expands to 48.5 cubic feet when the rear seats are folded flat. The regular Q6 E-Tron has a maximum storage capacity of 53.9 cubic feet. In both cases, there is also 2.2 cubic feet in the front trunk.
Otherwise, there are no major differences between the two body styles, but range estimates may differ due to differences in aerodynamics. Audi does not mention the range of the Q6 Sportback E-Tron, but the regular Q6 E-Tron has an EPA-rated range of 321 miles with rear-wheel drive and 307 miles with all-wheel drive. Figures for the regular SQ6 E-Tron have not been released. [The dual-motor powertrains allow the Q6 Sportback E tron to produce 422 hp (456 hp with launch control) and the SQ6 Sportback E tron to produce 483 hp (509 hp with launch control). Top speeds are 130 mph and 143 mph, respectively, with a towing capacity of 4,400 pounds.
The Q6 E-Tron is powered by the new PPE modular platform designed for Volkswagen Group's premium brand electric vehicles. This platform will be shared with the Porsche Macan electric car, which will be available in 2024; for the Q6 Sportback E-Tron, the standard battery for the U.S. market will be a 100 kwh unit (total capacity 94.4 kwh).
According to Audi, the 800-volt electric system allows the battery to be charged to 10-80% in just 21 minutes using a DC fast charger.
Standard equipment on the Q6 Sportback E-Tron includes a curved display consisting of an 11.9-inch digital meter cluster and a 14.5-inch touchscreen for infotainment. Other standard or available features include a 10.9-inch touchscreen for the passenger seat, a 20-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system, a panoramic sunroof, heated rear seats and steering wheel, and adaptive dampers with air suspension.
An Audi spokesperson said the Q6 Sportback E-Tron and SQ6 Sportback E-Tron will likely arrive as 2025 models, with pricing information to be announced closer to market launch next spring or next summer. Prices for the regular Q6 E-Tron and SQ6 E-Tron start at $65,095 and $74,195, including the $1,295 destination charge, with the Sportback version likely to command a slight premium.
Additional Q6 E-Tron models are also being prepared. These could include the high-performance RS Q6 E-Tron and a wild off-roader commemorating Audi's entry in the Dakar Rally.
