Jaguar Releases First photo of new Ultra-High-class EV
Announced in 2021, Jaguar has finally caught a glimpse of its plans to transform itself into a super-luxury brand that will exclusively sell electric cars by as early as 2025.

The automaker on Thursday will be the first of its expected lineup of 3 vehicles, a badly camouflaged proto of the 4-door Grand Tourer

The Chrysler 300c-style grille looks like a fake unit for camouflage purposes only. The same could be true for many of the rear cladding. Some details that can be discovered include a shutter on the lower front fascia, an extra long clamshell hood, and a charging Po on the front fender on the driver's side

The concept is expected to debut in 2024 kick off Miami Art Week on May 12. 2. The production model has been confirmed to debut by Jaguar in 2025, ahead of delivery from the following year.

Other EVs coming are thought to be large XJ alternative sedans and SUVs aimed at bentley Bentayga and JLR's own Range Rover Electric. They are expected to follow the GT in a relatively fast succession.

Jaguar has previously said that the GT model will offer more power than the previous Jaguar road car, with prices starting at about 100,000 British pounds (about 1 127,000 at current exchange rates). It also has a range of at least 430 miles based on WLTP test cycles used abroad, but should be well over 300 miles if measured in a more stringent EPA cycle. The new Ev will be based on a dedicated EV platform named jea (Jaguar Electrified Architecture) and will feature NACS connectors on vehicles to be delivered for North America. Jaguar has previously said that a bespoke platform is important to separate Jaguar cars from its sister company Land Rover.

Production will still take place in the same factory as the Land Rover model. The GT will be built at JLR's plant in Solihull, UK, where Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Range Rover Velar and Jaguar F-Pace are being built. But the F-Pace will not be produced for that long. As part of the transformation plan, all current Jaguar models, including the electric I-Pace, will be phased out prior to the launch of the new Ev.
