Toyota Supra A90 final version has been announced, but not for us

The current fifth-generation Toyota Supra production soon came to an end, Toyota has marked the occasion with a special model with upgraded performance called Supra A90 Final Edition.

revealed in Japan on May 11. On the 28th, this car is a hardcore Supra that was previously tested at the Nürburgring Racecourse in Germany in recent months. It was initially speculated that it would feature the GRMN badge, Toyota's designation for the most powerful road car developed by the GAZOO Racing motorsports division.

Only 300 units will be built, and the United States is not among the confirmed markets. Sales in other regions are expected to begin next spring.

The a90 final version will benefit from a massive upgrade, most importantly the increased output of Supra's turbocharged 3.0-liter inline 6 engine, which delivers 382 horsepower from the current 429 horsepower. The extra power comes from the new intake and exhaust systems, including the Akrapović titanium muffler as well as an improved cooling system. The engine is paired with Supra's 6-speed manual transmission and drives only the rear wheels.

The engineers also installed a larger Brembo brake with performance pads on the front and a cross-drill rotor and stainless steel hose on both ends. The adjustable KW suspension system, borrowed from the Supra GT4 race car, has also been added along with the race car's rigid aluminum rear subframe mount. Further enhanced front cowl braces, new front and rear stabilizers, and front underfloor braces for increased rigidity are included. Toyota has also revised the wheel camber angle to enhance grip.

Additional chassis upgrades include lightweight aluminum wheels with a 19-inch front and 20-inch rear, and Michelin Pilot Sports Cup 2 tires that are 10 millimeters wider than standard Supra tires. The electric power steering and active differential have been recalibrated to complement other changes.

Externally, it features a new carbon fiber front splitter, dive plane, rear wing with swan neck strut, and a carbon fiber hood with removable inner ducts to improve cooling when using the truck.

Inside, a Recaro Podium carbon fiber bucket seat with a red Alcantara trim has been added. Alcantara accents will be added to the center console and door panels, with carbon fiber trim and red seatbelts to match the upholstery.

While the U.S. will miss the A90 final version, Toyota said some upgrades will be included, including increased horsepower, enhanced chassis and improved brakes. 3 It was confirmed that it will be introduced into the usual Supra with a .0-liter engine. The Recaro seat with a unique aerodynamic package and red accents remains exclusive to the A90 final version.

The fifth generation Supra was jointly developed with BMW and shared an engine, platform and production line with the BMW Z4 at its Magna Steyr plant in Austria. Both models are expected to end production next year, but neither manufacturer has confirmed the exact date.

Despite the end of production, Toyota said it would continue to develop the Supra through Motorsport. Fans hope it won't involve another 4-year gap, like the 5th and 17th generation models, but it's likely that a successor will appear in the work.
