2027 Audi SQ7 was spied for the first time

Audi is working on a redesign of the Q7, and for the first time a new generation of sporty SQ7 variants has been discovered.

The new Q7 is expected to debut in late 2025 or early next year, and may arrive as a 2027 model in the US.The SQ7 variant should be available at about the same time as the regular model.

The heavily disguised SQ7 looks almost identical to the usual Q7 found earlier. However, there are some differences, like 2 intercoolers behind the lower grille and 1 intercooler on both sides. These, along with extra piping, would be to cool the twin-turbo 7 4.0-liter V-8 currently found in other Audi S and RS models, including the current SQ7, where the engine develops 500 hp.

Audi's trademark quad exhaust chip can be seen as well as other S models. The production model is probably equipped with a chrome finishing machine.

Like other Audi crossovers with S badges, including the current SQ7, which has just been updated in 2025, the new SQ7 has the potential to ride on air suspension with adaptive dampers. The prototype is equipped with an S-specific wheel design that looks a bit larger than the wheels attached to the regular Q7 prototype, which may point to the larger brakes of the S model.

There are still no clear shots inside, but 1 photo reveals that there is probably a large touchscreen on the dashboard enhanced by a digital gauge cluster. Also, the steering wheel looks like a flat bottom design.

The production of the new Q7 should be carried out at the same plant in Bratislava, Slovakia, where the current Q7 is being built. Other SUVs at the plant include the Porsche Cayenne and the Volkswagen Touareg. The plant is also earmarked to build an electric Cayenne that's tested out in the form of a prototype.

The new Q7 lineup could be one of Audi's last introduction of the new gas-powered model 1. The automaker has already promised to sell only evs, suggesting that the last model with a gas engine will be launched soon in 2026.
