Pricing for the 2020 Audi Q7 three-row crossover starts at $55,795 USD

Audi's second-generation Q7 is approaching the midpoint of its life cycle, and to keep it looking and feeling fresh, the automaker has introduced a series of updates.

The updates were introduced starting with the 2020 model year, and while they are substantial, the Q7's price remains largely unchanged. It can be purchased starting at $55,795 including destination, up $1,250 from the 2019 model's price.

That price is for the entry-level Q7 45, which is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-4 that makes 248 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque.

Above that, the Q7 55 starts at $61,795 including destination. This model is powered by a turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 with 335 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque.

The big news for 2020 is the $85,795 SQ7, which will be introduced for the first time here in the United States. This model will be powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 with 500 hp and 568 lb-ft of torque. Pricing for this model has not yet been announced.

All Q7 models come standard with an 8-speed automatic and all-wheel drive.

The 2020 Q7 has received minor tweaks to the exterior, but inside the cabin, Audi has done some serious work. The digital meter cluster remains standard, but the traditional center stack has been replaced by two screens. These control nearly all vehicle functions, and tactile and acoustic clicks confirm when a finger activates a function.

Audi's infotainment system, known as MMI, has also been upgraded with multiple apps, including natural speech voice activation, Amazon Alexa, and navigation with Google Earth. Electronic driver assistance technology has also been expanded. A new item is an emergency assist feature that can safely bring the vehicle to a stop when the driver is not operating it.

Valuable options for the 2020 Q7 include adaptive air suspension, four-wheel steering, and a tow package rated for towing 7,700 pounds. Laser lights, 20-inch wheels (standard are 19 inches), a surround-view camera, and a 23-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system are also available.

While the Q7 remains a solid choice, Audi also has two worthy alternatives coming in 2020: the A6 Allroad and RS 6 Avant, but be prepared to splurge on the wagon duo.
