2021 GMC Cyclone with 750 hp from SVE will shake you like a hurricane.

Last year, Specialty Vehicle Engineering (SVE) unveiled a modern interpretation of the GMC Cyclone, adding a supercharger to the GMC Canyon mid-size truck. Its first version had 455 horsepower, but now the New Jersey company is back with a 750-horsepower Cyclone, according to a Tuesday report from Muscle Cars & Trucks.

The SVE 750-horsepower Cyclone will be sold as a 2021 model and will have a V-8 engine and four-wheel drive, but that's all the company has revealed so far.The first GMC Cyclone in 1991 had a turbocharged 4.3-liter V-6, but the SVE is factory factory-installed 3.6-liter V-6 with a supercharger, making it a 455-horsepower modern version.

SVE did not say which V-8 would be under the hood of the 2021 Cyclone, but a modern General Motors 6.2-liter small block would make sense. The company previously drew 1,000 hp from the LT1 V-8 for the Yenko Camaro.

The original 1991 Cyclone didn't need a V-8 to make the supercar stand out. At the time of its release, the modified GMC Sonoma pickup was the fastest car on the road, accelerating from 0-60 mph in just under 4.5 seconds; only 2,955 were built in 1991, and three more were built in 1992.

GMC later created the Typhoon SUV using the same formula, but soon gave up on muscle trucks. Today, the factory is focusing on off-road performance; a Canyon AT4 variant will be launched for the 2021 model year, and a more hardcore Canyon ZRX model is rumored to be in development.

SVE did not mention a release date or production volume, but the company's previous Cyclo was limited to 100 units.
