Cadillac Celestic design details have been revealed.

Cadillac on Wednesday released teaser images of a concept version of its upcoming electric luxury sedan, the Celestic.

The images show the wheels, taillights, and, unusually, door hinges of what Cadillac calls the Celestic's "show car." This concept version will probably be fully revealed later this year.

The Celestic is expected to be a large fastback sedan that will be Cadillac's true flagship. Cadillac plans to build the car by hand at a rate of just 1.2 cars per day, and it will be a high-end, exclusive vehicle.

A teaser video released at the 2021 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January shows that the roof of the Celestic will be a high-tech roof composed of four pieces of glass. This is made of Smart Glass, a suspended particle device, which allows the driver and passengers to individually set the transparency level. In other words, one person can set it to opaque and the others can bask in the sun's rays.

Cadillac also suggests that a display screen across the dashboard and an additional screen between the first and second rows will give occupants their own personalized zones. Cadillac has also confirmed all-wheel drive and all-wheel steering for the Celestic, which, like GM's other new EVs, will use the Ultium modular battery system and component set.

The Celestiq will be followed by the Lyriq, a 2023 Cadillac electric SUV that recently went into production; the Lyriq will be available with 340 hp rear-wheel drive, an estimated range of 312 miles, and a base price of $62,990. An all-wheel drive version will follow in calendar year 2023 and will boast at least 500 hp.
