Season 5 of "Formula 1: Drive to Survive" will be available on Netflix beginning February 24.

"F1: Netflix announced via Twitter on Thursday that the next season of "F1: Drive to Survive" will be available on February 24.

The fifth season of the series will focus on the 2022 F1 racing season. These changes were intended to close the gap between the richest teams and the rest, creating closer and more unpredictable racing. [But the results were predictable. Despite Ferrari's competitiveness in the early stages of the race, champion Max Verstappen was crowned driver's champion for the second time, and Red Bull took the team title, ending Mercedes AMG's winning streak. Verstappen also won a record 15 races.

Red Bull was later found to have violated new cost-cap rules and the team was fined but allowed to retain the championship title. Along with the driver swap that saw McLaren and Alpine battling it out for Oscar Piatri to fill the seats of Daniel Ricciardo and Fernando Alonso, respectively, this season of "Drive to Survive" Could be.

In May 2022, F1 management confirmed that "Drive to Survive" would continue for a fifth and sixth season. However, due to the strong ratings of season four, which featured a close race between Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton, F1 management committed to continue it for two more seasons.

F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali said that the future of the Netflix series is not guaranteed, saying in an interview in 2022, "For 'Drive to Survive' to continue, it must add value to F1. In other words, it all depends on how this latest season is received by viewers.
