McLaren 720S Successor, Ferrari 499P: Today's Automotive News

McLaren is developing a successor to the 720S, likely to be positioned above the recently announced 671-hp Artura plug-in hybrid. This successor will be unveiled soon and is expected to be a major update, rather than a redesign of the 720S from scratch, just as the previous 650S was a major update of the MP4 12C.

Ferrari will return to top-level endurance racing this year, competing in the World Endurance Championship's premier hypercar class. Ferrari will compete in the series with its new 499P LMH racing car and a driver lineup that includes former Formula 1 drivers.

Hyundai Mobis, Hyundai's parts and accessories division, has built a prototype of the Ioniq 5 with e-Corner in-wheel motor and steering technology. This technology has the potential to bring a new level of maneuverability, such as allowing the vehicle to turn on the fly or drive sideways.
