Mega Rex returns with the Megaraptor 7, a 3-row SUV

MegaRexx, the North Carolina company that transforms Ford's F-250 Super Duty into a big, burly Baja basher, has unveiled a new version of its wild seven-passenger truck.

Called the MegaRaptor7, it features a third row with two seats in the area where the F-250 bed normally sits.MegaRexx has also created a removable canopy roof that can be removed for a more comfortable ride. This is a one-piece design made from hand-formed aluminum with tinted side glass.

This modification turns a conventional MegaRaptor pickup truck into an SUV.

The MegaRaptor7 is based on the Ford F-250 Super Duty Lariat 4x4 crew cab and as a result is loaded with luxury features. These include leather trim, a Bang & Olufsen audio system, and voice-activated navigation. The truck's front bucket seats are heated and cooled.

The truck is also powered by the stock turbo diesel 6.7-liter V-8 engine found in the F-250, which produces 475 hp and 1,050 lb-ft of torque. According to Ford, the engine tows up to 20,000 pounds with a four-wheel drive F-250 with a conventional hitch.

To add ground clearance, MegaRexx added new springs, shocks, and suspension arms. It also has 46-inch Michelin off-road tires, wrapped around 20-inch MRAP wheels.

To accommodate the massive tires, MegaRexx designed its own fenders that were bolted and glued to the truck.

Pricing for the MegaRaptor7 starts at about $189,000, and MegaRexx takes about eight weeks to complete. Customers can provide their own F-250, which must be a 2017 or newer model.

MegaRexx has another option for buyers looking for a wild seven-passenger truck. Last June, the company rolled out a Super Duty and Bronco mashup with a third-row option.

Note that Denver-based Defco Trucks also used the MegaRaptor name for its 2018 F-350 build, and Shelby American is offering its own off-road-ready F-250 minus the Raptor nomenclature.
