Nissan Z Nismo announced, debuts this summer.

Nissan is not done releasing variations of the new Z. A hotter version is on the way, brought to life by the Nismo team.

On Thursday, Nissan confirmed that the 2024 Z Nismo will debut later this summer. The confirmation was accompanied by a video of Formula Drift champion Chris Forsberg drifting the car.

Nissan said the Nismo Z will feature track-tuned performance. The latest Z rides and drives a bit softer than previous models, which is great on the street, but does not offer performance on the track. The Nismo model should solve this problem by equipping it with performance suspension bits.

The video teaser shows a body kit with Nismo's trademark red lipstick on the lower edge, but it is toned down compared to the GT-R Nismo and previous Z Nismo models. At the rear, a large body-colored lip spoiler, large rear diffuser, and dual exhaust tips are fitted. The wheels are exclusive to the Nismo and appear to be 20-inch with Dunlop Sportmax Summer Performance tires.

On the interior, the Z Nismo has Recaro performance bucket seats with holes for a five-point harness. The digital meter cluster has a Nismo-specific design, and a red start button has been added. The leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel has a red stripe at the 12 o'clock position.

The Z Nismo is powered by a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6. It is unclear whether the Nismo model will surpass the standard Z's 400 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque, but further boosting will not be difficult for the automaker The Z is available with a six-speed manual transmission or a nine-speed automatic transmission. The Nismo could be offered with either transmission, and so far Nissan has been tight-lipped about whether it will have two or three pedals.
