Lotus Emira to start at $99,900 in the US

The Lotus Emira will finally arrive in the US in the third quarter of 2023, two years after its debut.

A configurator is available on Lotus' U.S. site, revealing that the Emira will be slightly more expensive than previously announced.

The first version to appear will be the Emira First Edition, powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine supplied by Toyota. Prices will start at $105,400.

The Emira First Edition will follow in the first quarter of 2024, powered by a 2.0-liter turbo four from Mercedes-Benz. Prices start at $99,900.

Previously, Lotus had announced that the four-cylinder Emira First Edition would start at $85,900 and the V-6 version at $93,900.

All figures listed do not include destination fees.

The First Edition features 12-way adjustable seats, Nappa and Alcantara upholstery, KEF sound system, stability control track mode, Tour and Sport suspension settings, Goodyear Eagle F1 Super Sport or Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, and many other extras will be standard, including a Lotus Driver's Pack that includes Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires.

The Emira, which will not receive First Edition treatment, will likely have a lower starting price.

The Emira was the last Lotus to be powered by an internal combustion engine: a 2.0-liter turbo four with 360 hp and an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic only.

The V-6 engine is the familiar supercharged 3.5-liter engine used in previous Lotus sports cars, including the last Lotus sold in the U.S., the Evora GT. 6-speed manual is standard, but for an additional $2,150 A six-speed automatic is also available for an additional $2,150.

After the Emira, Lotus will bring the Elettre electric SUV to the U.S. It is scheduled to go on sale in 2024, with a maximum output of 905 hp.
