MG Cyber GTS previews coupe option for EV roadster cyberstar

Earlier this year, the historic British brand MG began selling an electric sports car in the form of the Cyberstar, a two-seater convertible with a 77 kwh battery and maximum output of 496 hp.

Soon, a coupe may also be in showrooms.

At the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed in England last week, MG unveiled the Cyber GTS Concept, a coupe version of the Cyberstar that boasts a 2+2 seater and a roofline inspired by the roofline of the former MGB GT

MG has also introduced a new version of the Cyber GTS Concept.

MG specifically mentioned the MGC GTS Sebring racing model, which achieved MG's best result in the 1968 12 Hours of Sebring, finishing 3rd in class and 10th overall.

Specifications for the Cyber GTS concept were not released, but it is likely that the production version will be identical to the Cyberstar's production numbers. Currently, buyers can choose between the rear-wheel drive Cyber Star GT (335 hp) and the all-wheel drive Cyber Star Trophy (496 hp). In the latter, the 0-62 mph acceleration is only 3.2 seconds.

The Cyberstar GT and Cyberstar Trophy have a range of 316 and 276 miles, respectively, when measured on the WLTP cycle used overseas. These figures are lower when the more stringent EPA test cycle is used.

MG is currently gauging whether there is enough interest in a production version of the Cyber GTS. The concept does not even have an interior yet, but the dashboard will eventually match the convertible's design.

If production does happen, it is unlikely that the Cyber GTS will be sold in the US.
