One-off 2025 BMW M5 to be auctioned at Monterey Car Week
BMW will auction a one-off version of its redesigned 2025 M5 next month at the 2024 Monterey Car Week to raise funds for charity.
The new M5 will debut in June, with U.S. deliveries beginning in Q4.
Officially named the “2025 BMW M5 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance #1/1,” the name commemorates the annual Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, a highlight of Monterey Car Week.
It features paint colors, trim colors, wheels, and interior details that highlight the Pebble Beach Concours. The paint is BMW's distinctive Frozen Orange Metallic, which is no longer produced at the Dingolfing plant in Germany where the M5 is built.
According to BMW, this bespoke option costs about $57,000 on its own.
Auction house Gooding & Company will handle the sale of the car on August 16; BMW will donate all proceeds above the car's MSRP to the official Pebble Beach Concours fund.
This year's Monterey Car Week will begin on August 9 and culminate with the Pebble Beach Concours on August 18.
Pricing for the latest M5 in the U.S. starts at $120,675 including a $1,175 destination charge, and features a plug-in hybrid powertrain similar to that found in BMW's XM SUV, with a 4.4-liter V-8 twin turbo and an electric motor integrated with the transmission. Maximum output is 717 hp and 0-60 mph acceleration is 3.4 seconds.
