RB appoints Isaac Hajjar as driver for 2025
The RB Formula 1 team, a feeder team for Red Bull Racing that has won several world championships, named Isaac Hajjar as its driver for 2025 on Friday. He will race in the new season alongside current RB driver Hiroki Tsunoda.
Hajjar, 20, is a French driver who has been part of Red Bull's driver development program since 2022, joining alumni such as Max Verstappen, Sebastian Vettel, and Daniel Ricciardo.
He will fill the seat of Liam Lawson, who was promoted to Red Bull to replace the departing Sergio Perez on Thursday. The appointment completes F1's 2025 driver lineup.
Hajjar participated in several F1 practice sessions in 2023 and 2024. He was the second fastest of the five rookie drivers who took part in those sessions.
The highlight of his short career came in the 2024 F2 season, when he finished second behind Gabriel Bortoleto. Bortoleto signed a 2025 contract with Sauber, which will become Audi in 2026.
RB did not mention the length of Hajjar's contract in Friday's announcement.
“I look forward to working with and learning from Yuki. He has been through the Red Bull junior program like me and we have worked together on the road to F1.
